From watching the various film clips that are of a comedy genre I noticed a few reoccurring trends between them. I noticed that the actions are very exaggerated. This is because of the lack dialogue the audience need to be drawn in and attracted by other aspects of the film, so the exaggerated movements keep the audiences eyes locked on the the screen. To add to this the music is incidental. This means that the music matches well with the action that goes on on screen. For example if the action on screen was very choppy and faced paced the music will relate to this. Incidental music helps the audience tap into the emotion that they should be feeling. Because of lack of dialogue the music also helps the audience understand the atmosphere of the scene. I also noticed how there is a limit of characters on screen at one time. If there are too many characters on screen at one given moment the audience struggle to know what to focus on. The fewer characters on screen the more the audience can engage into the main action and plot of the story.
